Swapping a seasonal job at the local freezing works and opposum trappping in the winter to enter the fast paced world of real estate is not an easy ask, but Gus Guise not only made a successful transition from overalls to suit and tie he has gained the admiration of hundreds of happy clients along the way.
Coming from a farming and sawmilling family, Gus has lived in the area all his life and is truly grateful for the tremendous support from the family that aided him in his quest to be the best in what is a frenetic commercial environment.
Gus says he gets great satisfaction from the fact that he has been able to get the right result for clients who now number among them many third generation families.
And the key to his outstanding sucess rate that has seen him achieve the Diamond Award within the First Nationsl network which constantly places him in the top 5% - is trust and good, plain old fashion honest service.
"If clients know they can trust you then you are definitely on the right track," Gus explains.
"It's all about building up a rapour with each individual client and going that extra mile".
Away from the office, Gus really enjoys his rugby and the former senior Riverton senior team member now keenly follows his grandsons progress on the rugby fields.
In fact, Gus has been an ardent supporter of the seaside club for 50 years.
Real estate and rugby aside, Gus's other passions include spending quality time with his extended family and "time out" at his hunting lodge at Barn Bay with his mates.
